What started as riding lessons for my granddaughter with Matt Mazza, has turned into a dream come true. As a tried and true barrel turning, sorting & penning, western girl, the Friesian never crossed my mind…that is, until I rode one. Then leased one. I found myself perusing the horse classifieds for a big black horse of my own to share with my granddaughter. It seemed that a sound, well trained, young horse that could satisfy us both, within my budget, was well out of my reach. Well, until Matt and the Sovereign team found a perfect match for us in 4-year-old Abe M-S aka “Rembrandt”. He has a sane mind that you might expect in a much older seasoned horse, a pedigree full of royalty, and big floaty gaits. We are so excited that his build will be great for all disciplines too.
